The 2026 Para Asian Games concluded on October 24, with India securing fourth place on the medals table after a strong overall performance. The multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities began on October 18 in Nagayo, Japan.

India finished with a total of 114 medals, including 30 gold, 35 silver and 49 bronze. The tally marked an improved showing compared to previous editions, with Indian athletes contributing across disciplines.

Among the standout performers, Sheetal Devi won three medals—two gold and one silver. Thulasimathi Murugesan, Ravi Budikina and Himanshu Nandal also claimed three medals each, as India’s leading names delivered consistent results.

In shooting and athletics, Mona Agarwal, Nishad Kumar, Pranav Surya, Simran and Dilip Kavit won two gold medals each. Javelin thrower Sumit Antil, a two-time champion, added another medal to his record.

India’s 114-medal haul is six more than the 108 medals it won at the 2025 Para Asian Games in China, underlining the team’s progress while maintaining a top-four finish.
