Minister Keerthana visited fireworks units in Sivakasi and interacted with workers, listening to their grievances and needs. Speaking during the visit, she said the government is working on measures to strengthen the sector while improving safety.
She announced that a 100-acre “Pyro Park” will be established in Sivakasi to promote the growth of the fireworks industry and help prevent accidents. According to her, the facility could also help control the illegal sale of chemical raw materials used in fireworks, thereby reducing the risk of mishaps.
The minister said steps would be taken to provide training for fireworks manufacturers at the Pyro Park as part of efforts to mechanise the industry using AI-based technologies. She added that the initiative could become a pathway towards realising the goal of fireworks exports.
Keerthana said details such as the location of the Pyro Park and the facilities to be created would be announced fully within two months. She also stated that the Chief Minister is serious about preventing crimes against women, and claimed the government is functioning with transparency and without corruption in processes including tenders, unlike the previous regime.
