Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking on the radio programme Mann Ki Baat, said the platform allows him to connect with families across the country and “bow” to the nation’s people power. He noted that the programme began 12 years ago on Vijayadashami and has continued with public support.
Modi said the show has helped spotlight inspiring work that often goes unnoticed. He cited Punjab’s “Kheti Virasat Mission” for promoting natural farming and traditional agricultural practices.
Highlighting Indian capabilities, he referred to a brain-imaging technology platform developed by the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre at IIT Madras, which creates high-resolution 3D images of the human brain. He also mentioned an initiative in Punjab’s Malwa region where cotton is cultivated naturally without chemicals, including the use of naturally coloured cotton that reduces the need for chemical processing.
The Prime Minister urged people to encourage organ donation, saying it can save lives and support medical research. He said the Ayushman scheme has helped people access better healthcare facilities.
Modi also called on citizens to participate enthusiastically in the Unity Run on October 31, marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, and reiterated support for locally made products. He encouraged adding millets to daily diets and extended greetings to people for the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja, urging everyone to celebrate safely and include others in their joy.
