DMK leader M.K. Stalin on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the ruling TVK government, claiming it may not be able to complete even six months in office.
Speaking at a wedding function at the residence of former DMK minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran in Chennai, Stalin said not only those who did not vote for TVK, but even those who supported it were now “lamenting” the situation in Tamil Nadu.
He alleged that the state was facing rising prices and administrative deterioration, and said there were hardly any days without reports of sexual offences, murder and robbery. He also claimed that children were going missing.
Referring to the “Singappen Padai” formed under the TVK regime, Stalin said the government had reached a stage where it needed to create another force to protect it. He further accused the administration of being preoccupied with issues such as sexual violence and drug movement.
Stalin said the public understood who the “evil force” was, and urged people to stay united to bring an end to what he called an unjust rule. He concluded by reiterating that the government appeared unable to last even six months.
