Hindu Tamilar Katchi has condemned a recent remark made by DMK’s propaganda wing functionary Dindigul Leoni, alleging that it demeaned Hindu beliefs.
According to the party, Leoni had said that “the footwear removed by DMK leader Stalin is what rules Tamil Nadu,” a statement that triggered criticism.
Hindu Tamilar Katchi president Ram Ravikumar responded to the comment and issued a sharp rebuttal, accusing Leoni of mocking religious sentiments.
The controversy has added to political sparring in the state, with the party demanding accountability over statements it says are offensive to Hindu faith.
