Saudi Arabia is facing heightened tensions as Iran-backed Houthi rebels continue a series of attacks, according to reports. Strikes on airports in key cities, including Riyadh, have reportedly left 14 people dead.

Saudi authorities also intercepted missiles aimed at Mecca, Islam’s holy city. The situation has prompted advisories for residents and expatriates in the Kingdom.

The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has asked Indian nationals to remain cautious and stay safe, and has shared emergency contact numbers for assistance.

In a fresh warning, the Embassy urged Indians not to take videos or photos of missile or drone interceptions, or of areas damaged by falling debris. It cited a Saudi security warning that recording and sharing such content on social media is a legal offence, and said violations could invite penalties including imprisonment under Saudi law.
