DMK president M.K. Stalin has questioned the Chief Minister’s silence on the state’s law-and-order situation, citing a series of recent crimes across Tamil Nadu.
In a statement issued in Chennai, Stalin referred to killings taking place in broad daylight, including a murder in a public place in Salem. He also mentioned that a missing boy in Madurai was later found dead.
Stalin said the whereabouts of a missing girl from Gingee remain unknown and alleged that crime in the state is rising sharply. He claimed offenders are acting without fear, as if they have been given a free run.
Saying the state has reached a stage where murders are being counted daily, Stalin asked why the Chief Minister—known for speaking at length on law and order—was not responding now. He announced that the DMK will hold protests across Tamil Nadu on Saturday, October 31, condemning the deterioration in law and order.
