PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss has questioned whether Tamil Nadu is being “run by astrologers”, taking aim at what he described as political decision-making driven by predictions and rituals rather than public interest.
In his remarks, Anbumani also criticised the BJP’s approach to public outreach, saying many schemes announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi do not reach people effectively because the party fails to campaign and create awareness.
He further argued that political leaders should strengthen their communication skills and preparedness, citing the importance of clear, point-by-point articulation in high-level meetings and public life.
Anbumani alleged that belief in astrology is not limited to one leader or party, and pointed to instances of pujas and rituals being performed across political camps. He said such practices should not dictate leadership decisions.
Calling for broader responsibility, he urged the public to act with civic sense and appealed to those who convert lakes and ponds into real-estate plots to change their ways.
