Online advance booking for darshan during the Mandala season at the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple in Kerala will open on October 29, the Travancore Devaswom Board has announced.

The system is being used to regulate crowd movement by allowing devotees entry through pre-booked slots. The Mandala–Makaravilakku pilgrimage season is scheduled to begin on November 16 this year.

According to the board, bookings will go live at 10.00 am on October 29 on the official portal, www.sabarimalaonline.org.

Daily entry limits have been set route-wise: up to 60,000 devotees via the Nilakkal–Pamba route, and 3,000 each via the Erumeli Peruvazhi route and the Vandiperiyar–Chathram route.

In addition, spot-booking facilities have been arranged at Nilakkal, Erumeli and Vandiperiyar for devotees who need on-site assistance.
