Chennai: Annamalai, president of the organisation We The Leaders, has called for an investigation into a reported Rs 1,000 crore investment linked to Udhayanidhi’s foundation.
In a statement, he welcomed the arrest of former DMK minister Mahesh in connection with alleged irregularities in the School Education Department. He said legal action must be taken against anyone found to have committed wrongdoing.
Annamalai recalled that in 2023, when he released what he termed “DMK Files”, he had raised questions about a Rs 1,000 crore investment by Nobel Steel in Tamil Nadu. He alleged that the then DMK government did not provide a proper explanation, and claimed the investment never materialised in the state.
He further said there has been no response so far to information suggesting that Udhayanidhi’s foundation operated from the same address where another Nobel group firm, Nobel Bricks, was functioning. He demanded that the government conduct an open probe into the alleged links and the investment claim, and place the facts before the public.
