Chennai Police have registered a case against DMK MLA Sekar Babu and DMK MP Kalnidhi Veerasamy following an altercation outside the Vepery Police Commissioner’s office.

The case stems from events on October 26 evening, when former DMK minister Mahesh was arrested over allegations of collecting bribes—reportedly up to Rs 100 crore—for granting recognition to private schools.

According to the police, Sekar Babu, Veerasamy and other DMK members stopped officers and engaged in a heated argument during the arrest-related developments.

Police said the FIR includes two sections, alleging obstruction of officials from performing their duties and use of disrespectful language.
