James Bond films continue to draw global audiences, with actors such as Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and most recently Daniel Craig having played the iconic spy.

Fans are now closely watching who will take over the role next. According to reports, filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is expected to direct the upcoming Bond film.

Media reports claim that actors including Callum Turner, Jack Lowden and Josh O’Connor were considered and took part in screen tests. In the days that followed, screen tests were reportedly conducted with Lowden and O’Connor.

An online survey cited in the reports said 67% of respondents backed Jack Lowden as the next Bond, placing him at the top of the selection talk. However, there has been no official announcement.

If Lowden is chosen, he would become the first Scottish actor to play Bond since Connery. Lowden, born in 1990 to Scottish parents, has acted in stage productions and Hollywood films, earning awards for some projects and often portraying spy roles in theatre.
