A bomb exploded on a railway track in Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, close to the India-Pakistan border. Following the incident, several trains were cancelled.
As the site lies in a border area, officials from the Anti-Terrorism unit, the Crime Investigation Department and central intelligence agencies visited the spot and carried out inspections.
Investigators are probing whether the blast was a conspiracy to derail a train, and who the anti-social elements behind the act were. No further details have been made available so far.
Repair work is currently under way on the damaged section of the track.
