
New party joins AIADMK alliance; one seat allotted to Singath Tamilar
A new entrant has joined the AIADMK-led NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu, with the Singath Tamilar Munnetra Kazhagam (STMK) being allotted one constituency, party leader Bharathan announced. Bharathan said the party would contest on the AIADMK’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol. He made the statement after meeting AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS). The AIADMK-led alliance currently includes the BJP, PMK, AMMK, TMC, Puratchi Bharatham, Tamilaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam and the Indian Democratic Party. As per the seat-sharing details cited, the BJP has been allotted 27 seats, the PMK 18 and the AMMK 11.
