Trump warns retaliation after drone strike on Qatar’s LPG plant
Washington: Amid the continuing conflict in West Asia, U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States will retaliate if Iran launches fresh attacks on Qatar. Qatar said a drone strike targeted the world’s largest LPG plant. Firefighting operations are ongoing, and authorities reported that two of three fire incidents at Ras Laffan have been brought under control. Qatar’s Interior Ministry said no injuries were recorded. In a public post, Trump said he did not want to approve “intense military action” due to the long-term consequences Iran could face. However, he warned that if Qatar’s LPG facility is targeted again, the U.S. would not hesitate to respond.
