Chennai: Three days after polling concluded in Tamil Nadu, the Election Commission has not yet released constituency-wise details on how many votes were cast in each Assembly segment. The single-phase Assembly election was held on April 23. Out of 5.73 crore registered voters, 4.87 crore cast their votes, taking the overall turnout to 85.10%. About 86 lakh voters did not vote. Typically, the Commission announces an approximate turnout percentage on the night of polling, followed by final, precise figures the next day.
